Coronavirus (COVID-19) venue update

 

We're open with limited services

Following the Government’s announcement on 4 January 2021 of a further lockdown we’re pleased to advise that the marina is still OPEN offering limited, pre-booked, quayside services and a collection service from our chandlery. Please contact us to use either of these services.

 

We’re a COVID secure venue and will continue to ensure we operate in a way that keep our visitors and staff safe – find out more about our safety measures.

Lee Valley Marina, Springfield provides all marina services including moorings, boat repairs, boat craning and a well-stocked chandlery.

 

Sited on the lower reaches of the River Lee adjacent to Walthamstow Marshes nature reserve. A Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), the marina has 200 berths and is close to central London and the West End. It's ideally placed for cruising the canal systems and the River Thames and Lee.

Marina services

The marina offers a range of services for the inland waterways user.

General services
  • Diesel

  • Water - available from the quay if other services have been purchased, restricted to 30 minutes

  • Boat pump out and sanitary disposal

  • Calor Gas - a range of Calor Gas bottles, from 3.9kg to 19kg (both propane and butane) are stocked

  • Solid fuel - a range of solid fuels, logs and kindling

  • Electric charging and hook up - one charging point is available for general customers but must be booked in advance

  • Towage by workboat

  • CRT Licences (short and long term)

Boat services
  • Refurbishment, welding, repairs, fitting out, painting and blacking

  • Surveys - out of the water surveys by independent professional marine surveyors can be carried out at the marina. Lee Valley Marina, Springfield doesn’t recommend any particular surveyor and no surveyor works in conjunction with the marina but we can provide a list of local surveyors

 

Moorings
  • Long term - the site boasts 200 berths available as well as mooring opportunities at one small satellite mooring site

  • Winter storage (hard standing)

Workshop services

The marina has a fully equipped work shop with qualified marine engineers onsite who can undertake a range of maintenance and repair work.

 

General workshop services
  • Welding - available from complete over-plates, engine beds, superstructure alterations and crash or sinking damage

  • Boat blacking and antifouling - a full range of services are available, whether you’re looking to do it yourself or use our marina staff

  • Carpentry and alteration services – whether it’s having shelf put up, making a new deck board or a full fit out the marina’s workshop team will ensure this is done to a high standard of workmanship.

  • Plumbing - all plumbing services available including fitting water pumps and tanks, central heating systems and engine cooling works

  • Solid fuel stoves and flues – a full range of solid fuel stoves are available from the chandlery and they can be professionally fitted by our engineers. Welded cranked flues are a speciality

Engine and gearbox repairs and servicing
  • Engine servicing and repairs - available for a range of inboard, outboard and traditional engines. Contact us with your engine details and we’ll let you know if we can help

  • Gearbox repairs and servicing – our engineers can undertake repairs and servicing specialising in BorgWarner, Hurth and PRM gearboxes.

  • New/replacement engines - we supply new engines either for self-fitting or supplied installed and running. Installations in new boats, engine upgrades or just the replacement of a tired old unit.
