Lee Valley Almost Wild Campsite,
The ultimate camping experience! On the borders of Hertfordshire and Essex this site offers you a chance for a wilderness adventure with a camping, back to nature experience.
Embrace Mother Nature in this rugged, natural setting nestled among mature woodland and a grassy glade surrounded by water on three sides. With limited facilities and none of the trappings of more commercial campsites, you’ll be able to camp out under the stars, hang a hammock from the trees and enjoy an open fire in a fire pit.
Enjoy this hidden gem of a site with it’s 12 riverside, eight woodland pitches and one pre-pitched safari tent.
What we mean by almost wild camping...
Solar powered, motion sensor lights around the toilets limit light pollution
Cold water tap
There’s also a minimum age to stay at the campsite, 12 years old, not quite adult only but nearly.
Water | Toilets | Cooking grill hire | Tent hire
Nearby: you’ll find cafés, pubs and restaurants as well as local shops. Make the most of your time at the site whether you choose to explore the local nature reserves and parks on foot, or hire a bike or canoe from Lee Valley Canoe Cycle and explore from a different perspective. If you have your own canoe or paddleboard there's a launching point on site that you can use to access the river. There’s even white water rafting a few miles away if you’d like to ramp up the adrenalin.
