The ultimate camping experience! On the borders of Hertfordshire and Essex this site offers you a chance for a wilderness adventure with a camping, back to nature experience.

Embrace Mother Nature in this rugged, natural setting nestled among mature woodland and a grassy glade surrounded by water on three sides. With limited facilities and none of the trappings of more commercial campsites, you’ll be able to camp out under the stars, hang a hammock from the trees and enjoy an open fire in a fire pit.

Enjoy this hidden gem of a site with it’s 12 riverside, eight woodland pitches and one pre-pitched Safari Tent as a woodland hideaway.

Our woodland hideway Safari Tent is a perfect escape for those who want to get back to mother nature but still want that little bit of comfort and no hassle of pitching a tent. You'll still get your fire pit so you can chill out next to the fire.

What we mean by almost wild camping...

  • Solar powered, motion sensor lights around the toilets limit light pollution

  • Composting toilets

  • Cold water tap

There’s also a minimum age to stay at the campsite, 12 years old, not quite adult only but nearly.

Make the most of your time at the site whether you choose to explore the local nature reserves and parks on foot, or hire a bike or canoe and explore from a different perspective. There’s even white water rafting a few miles away if you’d like to ramp up the adrenalin.

Have a question?

Like can I forage for food (no we’d rather you didn’t) or is there electricity on the site (no it’s a back to nature site) – then check out our frequently asked questions or contact us to know more.
