Wassailing Hat Competition 2026 Terms and Conditions
1. These terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) govern the Wassailing Hat Competition (“Competition”)
2. The promoter of this Competition is Lee Valley Regional Park Authority of Myddelton House, Bulls Cross, Enfield, Middlesex EN2 9HG (“Promoter”).
3. , A Lee Valley Goodie Bag to be awarded to one winning adults and one winning children. (“Prize”).
Can I enter this Competition?
4. The Competition is open to UK residents of any age.
5. No purchase or entry fee is necessary to enter this Competition.
6. The Competition is not open to the Promoter’s employees, suppliers or those who have been involved in setting up or running this Competition.
7. The Promoter does not accept any responsibility for entries delayed, incomplete or lost due to technical reasons or otherwise.
8. Any entries which contain abusive, inappropriate or offensive language will be disqualified from the Competition.
How do I enter the Competition?
9. To enter the Competition, you must attend the judging at the Wassailing event on 10 January 2026 at 17:00 wearing a decorated hat.
How are the Winners selected?
10. Four winners (two adults and two children) will be selected from all valid entries at 17:00 on 10 January 2026 by a judging panel made up of Lee Valley Regional Park Authority Rangers under the supervision of an independent person.
11. The Prize can be collected from the Promoter immediately after the winners being announced.
12. The Promoter reserves the right to pick an alternative winner if the Prize is not claimed.
13. If the Prize offered is unavailable due to circumstances beyond the control of the Promoter, the Promoter can offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value. The Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.

14. The Promoter will announce the winners at the Wassailing event on 10 January 2026 (Announcement Date).
15. If you object to any or all of your name being published or made available, please contact the Promoter: press@leevalleypark.org.uk. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
16. Neither the Promoter nor its contractors will be liable (to the extent permitted by law) for any loss or damage, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered, arising out of organising or holding this Competition, or if the Competition does not run as planned. This clause does not seek to exclude the liability of either the Promoter or its contractors for (a) death or personal injury caused by the Promoter or its contractors’ negligence, (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and/or (c) any other matter for which it would be unlawful for the Promoter and its contractors to exclude or attempt to exclude their liability.
17. The Promoter shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside of its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, terrorist attack, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.
18. The Promoter can change these Terms and Conditions or cancel the Competition at its discretion and without incurring liability as a result. The Promoter reserves the right to void, cancel, amend or suspend the Competition where necessary with or without notice.
19. The Promoter is committed to protecting your privacy and security. Whenever you provide personal information, the Promoter will treat that information in accordance with our Privacy Notice and current Data Protection legislation. 20. You consent to your data being stored and processed in the United Kingdom by the Promoter for the purpose of contacting you if you win the Prize and to organise its delivery.
21. The decision of the Promoter is final and no correspondence in relation to the Promoter’s exercise of its rights in accordance with these Terms and Conditions will be entered into.
22. These Terms and Conditions and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
23. The invalidity, illegality, or unenforceability of the whole or any part of the Terms and Conditions does not affect or impair the continuation in force of the remainder of the Terms and Conditions.
