Starting point: Broxbourne Old Mill and Meadows car park, Mill Lane, Broxbourne, Hertfordshire EN10 7AX
A circular wetland route around Silvermeade. Discover our ‘Wind in the Willows’, home of the Lee Valley Water Vole.
Directions
From Broxbourne Old Mill and Meadows car park, proceed under the railway bridge and turn right in a south direction down the towpath
Turn right through the kissing gate onto Silvermeade, and continue along the grass path, parallel to the railway line
Cross over the wide wooden bridge, proceeding through the field / kissing gate
Turn immediately right, through the wooden gate and proceed across the narrow wooden bridge over the ditch
Continue on the grass pathway, bearing to the left and proceed over the bridge and through a kissing gate
Turn right, following the grass pathway, with the ditch on the right
Proceed through the kissing gate, exiting Silvermeade and turn left onto the towpath
Continue north, turning left under the railway bridge returning back to the car park

The closet station is Broxbourne – 5 minutes away from starting point
Buses run along Nazeing New Road and the B176 which is short distance from the train station

Cattle graze this site during the summer – please keep dogs on leads when the cattle are there
