Ornamental pond (updated 1/10/26)

Over the past couple of years, our teams have invested time and funds into the pond to try and bring it back to its former glory. New pond liner was installed and extensive clearance works were carried out. 

Unfortunately, the pond liner has continued to fail despite this work and this along with the hot summer has caused the water level to fall very low. The shallow water has created a thriving environment for aquatic plants to grow and the vegetation is currently providing wildlife habitat for birds and other wildlife. 

We’ve been working with experts to create a plan for the pond's restoration including a new lining and drought resistant planting. The plans are on hold until an appropriate time when resources and funding are available and when we can ensure minimal disturbance to wildlife.

Wall repairs at Myddelton House (updated 30/09/26)

There will be wall repairs taking place on the wall of Myddelton House from 5 October to 2 November. This means that traffic management measures will be in place between 09:30 and 15:00. Please allow extra time when visiting and follow the signage in place.
