Location:
Andy is a natural history photographer and his talk covers the natural history and land management of Upper Teesdale an area of outstanding natural beauty in Co Durham.
Most of the area is owned by large estates and much of the land is managed for the driven grouse shoot. This management is beneficial to a very large breeding population of wading and other ground nesting birds.
The area is also renowned for its huge diversity of flora and the best examples of ancient hay meadows in Europe. Andy will show images of birds, mammals and plants from the area as well as images and explanations of the management of a driven grouse moor.
