About the event
While oaks often get the glory for being one of the most ecologically important trees, there is another contender for the crown: willows!
These wetland wonders provide nectar for bees, food for caterpillars, and nesting sites for birds. They’re a crucial driver of biodiversity across the UK.
Greg will talk about the ecological importance of willows, as well as other tree species, on this two-hour walk around Walthamstow Wetlands.
Important information
The walk will be fully outdoors, so dress for the weather! There may be some gentle inclines so strong stout footwear is recommended.
This event is aimed at adults aged 18+, but can be inclusive for young people aged 11 and above, who must be accompanied by an adult.
