Thank you for booking an activity at Lee Valley White Water Centre, we can’t wait for you to join us on the water! Here you’ll find specific information relating to your booking, so please ensure you read this carefully so you come fully prepared for your day.

Information for water based activity bookings
  • Your booked time is the check-in at our reception. Please do not arrive at reception before this; additional time has been allocated within this check-in to allow for potential queues at our reception and changing rooms.

  • Please take the time to read our Safety for Water Users Leaflet and Terms and Conditions.

  • Any participants under 18 years must have a signed Parental / Guardian Consent Form.

  • All participants must be under 18 stone.

Rafting Unleashed

Essential information

White water rafting is an extreme sport. While navigating the course you could well take a tumble into grade 4 rapids, so be prepared. Our bank safety team will be on hand to assist with a rescue and help you back aboard your raft.

All participants must individually weigh under 18 stone.

Minimum age

12 years

All participants must complete our Moving Water Safety declaration form.

Participants aged under 18 years must have our Parental Consent form signed by their legal parent/guardian before being able to participate in a moving water based activity at the centre.

Participants aged between 12 – 16 years must have their legal parent/guardian that remains on site at Lee Valley White Water Centre for the duration of the session, with one parent/guardian to every four children (max).

Groups

We always aim to keep groups together, however the only way to ensure your group will not get split up is to book a whole raft.

Clothing and equipment information

Wetsuits and boots are included. If you’d prefer to wear your own, we’ll have to check they’re suitable for the activity on the day, but please feel free to bring them along (please note, wetsuits will need to be full length for moving water activities). Open toe shoes such as sandals are unsuitable for this activity.

Participants are required to wear centre buoyancy aids and helmets which are provided.

During your rafting experience you’ll need to remove jewellery and any items of value. To avoid risk of loss or damage please leave valuables at home.

Activity assessment

Prior to going on the white water, all rafters will need to successfully complete the Activity Assessment.

Family Rafting

Essential information

White water rafting is an extreme sport. While navigating the course you could well take a tumble into the rapids, so be prepared. Our bank safety team will be on hand to assist with a rescue and help you back aboard your raft. 

Our family rafts hold a maximum of 5 people per raft, with a maximum 2 adults in the raft. All participants must individually weigh under 18 stone.

Hydrospeeding and Hot Dog sessions are very physical activities, which will require a reasonable level of fitness. Our bank safety team will be on hand to assist with a rescue if required.

Explore Kayaking and Explore Paddleboarding

Essential information

Activity includes kayak or sup board and paddle.

Minimum age

8 years

Participants must complete our Flat Water Safety declaration form.

Participants aged between 8 – 16 years must have their legal parent/guardian that remains on site at Lee Valley White Water Centre for the duration of the session, with one parent/guardian to every four children (max).

Clothing and equipment information

Wetsuits and boots are not required for these activities. All participants must wear a minimum of shorts and a t-shirt. Shoes must be closed toe; no sandals, flip flops or heeled shoes.

Wetsuits and wet boots are available for hire on the day at an additional charge of £5 per person.

Participants are required to wear centre buoyancy aids and helmets which are provided

Water Wipeout

Essential information

Activity includes up to 1 hour on Water Wipeout.

Minimum age

8 years

Participants must complete our Flat Water Safety declaration form.

Participants aged between 8 – 16 years must have their legal parent/guardian that remains on site at Lee Valley White Water Centre for the duration of the session, with one parent/guardian to every four children (max).

Bespoke Kayaking Tuition

You may use your own paddling equipment, however we'll need to check its suitability or you can borrow equipment free of charge from the centre.

The fee includes hire of wetsuits, buoyancy aids, helmets and boots. If you’d prefer to wear your own boots and/or wetsuit, we’ll have to check they’re suitable for the activity, but please feel free to bring them along. Open toe shoes such as sandals are unsuitable for this activity.

If you’ve chosen for your voucher to be sent by post it'll be sent to the delivery address provided, virtual gift vouchers will be emailed to the address provided.

If you’re not taking part in the activity with the recipient(s) why not come and watch the action from our café bar’s terrace as they tackle the rapids.
