Women's Race Training
Session length: 120 minutes
Age: 14+ years
Minimum height: 4ft 9ins / 145cm
Equipment hire: Bike with helmet £12 adult / £8 junior (under 18)
So you want to race, but you don't feel ready. What if you could try a "practice" road circuit first, with lots of help and advice to help you feel confident?
Look no further because we offer that here at Lee Valley VeloPark in collaboration with local women's club Velociposse. Book onto our five week series of beginner race training sessions, then try out your new skills in the practice race at the end of the series. All fun and no pressure!
If you've already done a few races but want to learn more, then these sessions are for you too. We focus on "race sense" as there's more to racing than just being strong.
You can join some or all of the training sessions but note that each week will build on the week before. More info about the practice race will be given in the sessions.
You must be able to confidently ride a bike
You'll need a road bike, with gears, drop handlebars, foot retention and a helmet
Bikes are available to hire at extra cost
You need to be in Suite 1 by the road circuit dressed to ride 10 minutes before start time
