Keeping you safe at Lee Valley Athletics Centre

Throughout the Coronavirus outbreak, keeping our visitors, staff and volunteers safe has been our top priority.

To help ensure everyone’s safety we need you to follow these instructions.

NHS Test and Trace

When visiting our venues please check in with the NHS Test and Trace app. If you don’t have a smart phone or you run into any problems our team are on hand to help.

Our staff

  • At  our reception we’re keeping our protective screens. We encourage people to observe any distance markings and limits on the number of people allowed in the communal areas – these are in place for the safety of you and  our staff

Booking sessions

  • All sessions to use the facilities must be booked and paid for in advance using our  online booking system

  • Under 16's must be accompanied by a supervising parent or coach though these people do not need to book to attend.

  • Athletes must bring a copy of their booking confirmation email either on a phone or on paper for checking at reception

  • All coaches using the venue should follow the latest England Athletics guidance

Visiting the site

  • If you or anyone in your household is experiencing any signs of illness do not come to the centre

  • We expect and recommend that you wear face coverings in our venues when people are nearby and especially in busy areas

  • Hand sanitiser will be available at multiple locations on site but we also recommend that you bring your own as well

  • A large proportion of the centre's car park is currently being used as a drive through COVID-19 test centre, however dedicated parking for athletes is available and is signposted on arrival

  • When parking, make sure you park far enough away from anyone else to avoid contact with other people. If other people are nearby, please wait for them to go before you get out of your car

  • Do not arrive early for your sessions

  • Please ensure you bring your own bottle of water.

  • We’ve stepped up cleaning frequency in the communal areas and the toilet facilities

During your training session

  • In order to minimise risk we would encourage 1m+ social distancing. You should limit the close contact you have with those you do not usually live with. Please be considerate of other visitors and give them space

  • All equipment should be sanitised before use and hands washed after use

Leaving the site

  • When you finish your training please leave the centre as soon as possible

  • Take care in the car park and, if there are people near your car, wait for them to go before you get into yours. We encourage you to not have social gatherings in the car park
