Keeping you safe at Lee Valley Athletics Centre
Throughout the Coronavirus outbreak, keeping our visitors, staff and volunteers safe has been our top priority.
To help ensure everyone’s safety we need you to follow these instructions:
NHS Test and Trace
When visiting our venues you must check in with the NHS Test and Trace app as required by Government guidelines. Scan the QR code on the NHS Test and Trace poster which is displayed where you arrive and then complete you details. If you don’t have a smart phone or you run into any problems our staff are on hand to help. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play.
Our staff
Staff on reception are protected by screens and wearing appropriate PPE. Please observe any distance markings and the limits on the number of people allowed in the communal areas and training groups – these are in place your and our staff’s safety
Booking sessions
We’re currently are open for pre-booked individual training on our outdoor and indoor facilities
All sessions to use the facilities must be booked and paid for in advance using our online booking system
Under 16's must be accompanied by a supervising parent or coach though these people do not need to book to attend.
Athletes must bring a copy of their booking confirmation email either on a phone or on paper for checking at reception
All coaches using the venue should follow the latest England Athletics guidance
Visiting the site
If you or anyone in your household is experiencing any signs of illness do not come to the centre
Face coverings are mandatory for all customers when entering the venue’s receptions, shops and catering outlet. They can be removed if instructed by a member of staff so that activities can be undertaken and for consuming food.
Hand sanitiser will be available at multiple locations on site but we also recommend that you bring your own as well
A large proportion of the centre's car park is currently being used as a drive through COVID-19 test centre, however dedicated parking for athletes is available and is signposted on arrival
When parking, make sure you park far enough away from anyone else to avoid contact with other people. If other people are nearby, please wait for them to go before you get out of your car
Do not arrive early for your sessions
Changing rooms, vending machines and the café are all closed. There will be limited toilet facilities
Our water fountains are currently out of use, please ensure you bring your own bottle of water.
We’ve stepped up cleaning frequency in the communal areas and the toilet facilities
During your training session
England Athletic guidelines should be strictly followed when on site, in particular 2m social distancing at all times whilst a 10m gap is advised if athletes are running behind each other. You can find the current coaching ratio within these guidelines
All equipment should be sanitised before use and hands washed after use.
Leaving the site
When you finish your training please leave the centre as soon as possible
Take care in the car park and, if there are people near your car, wait for them to go before you get into yours. Don’t have social gatherings in the car park
