Join Lira, Visitor Engagement Ranger to discover what the hype is about birds. Come along to this workshop for young people which will include a birdwatching guided walk and a zine session.

The youth workshops at Walthamstow Wetlands are a series of in-person events aimed to spark an interest in nature amongst young adults (16-30). For those already interested, they are a good way to deepen your connection, learn specific wildlife topics, meet other young people who think nature is cool!

The London Wildlife Trust aims to inspire young people on a journey of lifelong learning about the wildlife around them, providing outdoor learning opportunities for an urban population who have limited access to green space.

In this 2 hour workshop, Walthamstow Wetlands Ranger Lira Valencia will lead:

  • ~30/45min guided tour around the reserve where she will teach attendees how to identify birds, best practises for getting into birding, tips and tricks!

  • ~1hr creative session where partipants can make zines to help remember what they have learnt (magazines and resources provided!)
