A walk in around Waltham Abbey is a walk through hundreds of years of history and verdant landscapes. This walk follows the millstream and then meanders to the Millennial Avenue and then back to the Abbey grounds through a long avenue of trees.
Following the walk, for those who would like it, there will be a tour of a very significant monastic site and the abbey church, which reflect almost a millennium of church history (services permitting).
Most of the walk is flat with no stiles. After heavy rain, some of the paths can be muddy with large puddles so please wear appropriate footwear.
The walk lasts about an hour and the abbey tour about 30 - 45 minutes.
There are plenty of opportunities for refreshments nearby.
