“I'm awaiting my second stay this season, which may not be my last! This place is great as it is so accessible and (within reason) very lacking in restrictions, which enables the closest you are going to get to wild camping without actually wild camping. Generally the restrictions mirror those any decent wild camper would follow anyway in terms of respecting nature etc. One of the best parts about this place is that each of the woodland pitches are really pretty secluded, so you shouldn't ever have any noise issues as the wind through the trees/other foliage cancels out the noise of other campers from further away. Not too sure about the river pitches as not used them, however they are separated by hedges/shrubs too so I'd imagine they would be pretty quiet. The final point I would make is that the pitches are all very good sizes, and the descriptions on the website suggest they are a lot smaller than in the flesh, which is a brilliant surprise. Top marks”
Fantastic place - First time here I was very impressed. The pitches were big and private which made a difference as we love feeing like your there on your own. Defo booking again and again. I want to book a week next time if they allow. Views are lovely and nature surrounding you. We had a wild rabbit that didn’t mind us there. The park ranger was very nice and helpful and the camp site it self has all you need for a great wild experience.”
“Highly recommend this campsite, especially if coming from London. I cycled out here with camping stuff in my bike saddle bags. Stayed for the one night over the weekend and really enjoyed it. A proper break from the city rush but within very east reach. We will return!”
