A Walk in the Park - Gunpowder Park, Swan and Pike, and Enfield Island
During this weeks walk, you will discover Gunpowder Park, Swan and Pike Pool and Enfield Island.
Gunpowder Park used to be home of munitions testing and visiting was not recommended! Now Gunpowder Park in a vast space of exciting country park where people, wildlife and the arts coexist in a rather more peaceful environment.
Leading from Gunpowder Park we will visit Swan and Pike Pool, a very well known location for rivers and angling, walking and a great spot for picnics!
Moving onto Enfield Island, a formal royal small arms factory which is now home to housing however backs onto the beautiful Gunpowder Park.
The site has car parking, accessible parking and toilet facilities. Please note car parking is chargeable at £2.50 per day
Dogs are welcome if kept on a lead
Please wear comfortable clothing as the walk can take up to two hours
Bring a snack and some refreshments to give you that energy boost
By train: the nearest station is Enfield Lock on the Liverpool Street line (20 minute walk)
By bus: the 505 stops on Sewardstone Road (5 minute walk)
By car: 5 minute drive from the M25 Junction 26
