Father's Day Family Bushcraft Challenge
During this overnight residential course, participants (families) will have a bushcraft immersion for beginners at our newly open Almost Wild Campsite.
A great family activity where you'll learn a series of techniques that will allow you to survive in the wild or just make future camping trips more enjoyable.
Catered for families of up to 4 people, why not treat your Dad to something different this Father's Day?
On the course you will learn:
An introduction to the tools and equipment required for bushcraft, including the safe handling of axes, knives, and saws
Fire lighting using friction and other methods
Wild food foraging and preparing wild foods
Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of workshops and cooking time
There is an minimum age of 8 for this course
Please bring suitable clothing for staying overnight on a campsite
The two days are fully catered, please inform us of any dietary requirements upon booking
Please note the first day of course work will finish at 16:30, and the second day will finish at 15:30
By bus: Buses run along Nazeing New Road. There are bus stops at the junction with Old Nazeing Road which are closest to the site.
By train: Broxbourne train station is on the London Liverpool Street Line. The campsite is a 20 minute walk from the station.
From the station, walk towards the main road, turn left and follow the pavement until you see the sign for the campsite which will be on the left hand side in the wooded tree line.
By car: For sat navs please use: EN10 6TD
From the A10 take the Broxbourne exit. At the roundabout take the first exit sign posted Broxbourne. Follow this road over all the mini roundabouts until you reach the T junction traffic lights in Broxbourne. At these lights turn right. Follow this road, passing the train station on the left and Broxbourne Riverside on your right. Just past the entrance to Broxbourne Riverside you’ll find the entrance to the campsite in the wooded tree line on the left. When arriving at the site with your car please park in the car park that is a short walk away from the main camping area.
