Butterfly Bonanza

Join Lee Valley Park's Conservation Team for a butterfly walk around Gunpowder Park in preparation for Butterfly Conservation's Big Butterfly Count, starting on Saturday 15th July.

Gunpowder Park in Waltham Abbey is one of the richest butterfly sites in the Lee Valley. We will be taking a walk around the site looking for butterflies and learning about some of the management that takes place to help them and other insects to thrive there.

Butterflies are a key indicator of the health of the environment and this nationwide survey is a great way to get involved in aiding their conservation. Join us to pick up some top spotting tips and a free identification chart in preparation of the survey.
