Basic Bushcraft Taster Sessions

Join our Senior Bushcraft Instructor at Lee Valley Almost Wild Campsite for these brand new one hour taster sessions and learn about modern and ancient fire lighting techniques for when things take a turn for worst in the wild!

Modern Bushcraft Fire Lighting Skills - 10:00

Looking at modern fire lighting Bushcraft skills you will learn how to light a fire correctly, from the humble lighter to using your mobile phone!

Ancient Bushcraft Fire Lighting Skills - 14:00

Looking at ancient fire lighting Bushcraft skills, from fire by friction by rubbing two sticks together, to fire by spark from flint and steel.

  • Only 20 places per session - booking required

  • All equipment provided

  • Minimum age 8 years old

  • Please wear appropriate clothes for being outdoors

  • Why not make your visit an overnight stay and camp with us at Lee Valley Almost Wild Campsite

  • If you're not camping with us and are coming by car please park at Broxbourne Riverside Car Park and walk to the site

Getting here

By train: the nearest train station is Broxbourne (5 minute walk) on the London Liverpool Street line.

By bus: routes 310, 311, C3
By car: For sat navs please use: EN10 6TD

From the A10 take the Broxbourne exit. At the roundabout take the first exit sign posted Broxbourne. Follow this road over all the mini roundabouts until you reach the T junction traffic lights in Broxbourne. At these lights turn right. Follow this road, passing the train station on the left and Broxbourne Riverside on your right. Just past the entrance to Broxbourne Riverside you’ll find the entrance to the campsite in the wooded tree line on the left. When arriving at the site with your car please park in the car park that is a short walk away from the main camping area.
