A Walk in the Park - Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park was the buzzing location for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It has become a new national and international sport and leisure destination as well as an exciting cultural and residential area of the capital.

Part of the Park is managed by the London Legacy Development Corporation whilst the northern part (including Lee Valley VeloPark and Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre) is managed by the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority and Vibrant Partnerships.

During this walk you will find out about some of the hidden gems in the Park whilst spotting some of the most iconic Olympic sporting venues.

Starting at Lee Valley VeloPark with four cycling disciplines you will pass the Olympic rings as you stroll along Hopkins Fields towards the Copper Box arena. As you cross the road the Olympic Stadium (now home to West Ham and re named the London Stadium) will come into view and you can take a leisurely walk taking in the ArcelorMittal Orbit and the London Aquatics Centre.

The new pleasure gardens are a delight to walk through and you will loop round the bottom of the Park coming back through the amazing wetlands which should have a wealth of wildlife on display. Passing back up by the Timber Lodge and then through the Tumbling Bay Playground you will return to the Lee Valley VeloPark car park. The walk is between an hour and a half and two hours long.
