A Walk in the Park - West Essex Ramblers and the Filter Beds
With over 500 varieties of plants and one of quarter of Britain's butterfly species this area is a gem. The WaterWorks nature reserve has become a unique wildlife haven just miles from central London.
Join Wessex Ramblers on this leisurely yet informative walk around the filter beds.
Please wear suitable clothing as trails can get muddy and it can be cold this time of year
Bring some water and snacks to keep you going - we will stop for a coffee break
Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead
Meeting point at Lee Valley Ice Centre
Please ensure you arrive on time
By train: the nearest train station is Lea Bridge or Clapton on the Liverpool Street line (both 10 minute walk)
By bus: buses 48, 55 and 56 stop on Lea Bridge Road outside Lee Valley Ice Centre
By car: Lee Valley Ice Centre is just off the A104 Lea Bridge Road. There’s a large car park but please note this is chargeable
