Car parking tariffs

Car parking charges apply at Gunpowder Park.

On 1 April 2019 the car parking tariffs changed at Gunpowder Park. The fee for a full day’s parking is reduced from £2.50 to £2.00. To park for up to an hour there is now a charge of £1.

We have taken the decision to remove the free hour as, like all bodies that receive public funding, we have to constantly evaluate how we finance the activities and experiences we provide which include free guided walks, cycle routes and first class habitats for plants and wildlife. We are partly funded by local authorities across London, Essex and Hertfordshire.

We understand the pressures they are under and as such we are constantly looking at ways of generating more funds ourselves to help reduce our reliance on the tax payer and help these sites continue to be first rate habitats for plants and wildlife and places that people want to visit. We have ensured that this change in the structure of our fees is in line with the charges in place in similar parks and attractions and hope that you understand the reasons for doing this and continue to visit.

Charges

Charges are in place seven days a week, including Bank Holidays whenever the car park is open. Charges apply to all vehicles, including motorbikes.

First hour £1.00
Up to 24 hours £2.00

The tariffs have been guided by other charges in place locally.

You would need to contact ParkingEye as per the details on their charge letter, which is via one of the following methods: in writing to ParkingEye, PO Box 575, Chorley, PR6 6HT or via the online appeals form at parkingeye.co.uk/Appeal
