Coronavirus (COVID-19) update
Updated 7 April 2020
We’re closing our car parks on Bank Holidays and weekends until further notice. Too many people are driving to our park at weekends and not following Government advice to stay local and use open spaces near their homes.
There are fewer issues on weekdays and we know that some people with mobility issues drive to the park to exercise and that, for them, the park is a lifeline, so we have taken the decision to keep car parks open at these times. We will monitor the situation and will extend closures if we need to.
People must remember that the Government’s priority is to save lives, and that the best way to protect yourself and others from illness is to stay at home. Exercise is still important for people’s physical and mental wellbeing, so the Government has said people can leave their homes for one form exercise once a day. This can be, for example a run, walk or cycle – alone or with members of your household. When doing this, you should be minimising time spent outside of the home and ensuring you are two metres apart from anyone outside of your household and while in the park you must keep moving.

Annual Car Parking Permits
Pay once and park for a whole year for less than 14p a day at nine car parks in and around River Lee Country Park.
Our £50 annual pass means that if you’re a frequent visitor to the many attractions of the 1,000 acre park and think that you’ll pay to park more than 25 times a year it’ll be cheaper for you to buy a permit.
The car parks in the scheme are:
Broxbourne Old Mill and Meadows
Cheshunt Country Walk
Waltham Abbey Gardens
Please note, the car parking permit is not valid at Broxbourne Riverside car park
You’ll be issued with a permit that you'll need to print and show in your vehicle. Please note – we use a mixture of warden enforcement and ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) systems at our car parks so always make sure that your permit is visible and legible.
We’ll email your permit for you to print out, but please note it will take seven days to be valid from when you buy it. Please factor this in to your visit.
If you want us to send you a printed permit, select this option when completing your purchase. There’s an extra £5 administration fee.
Please ensure you read the Car Parking Permit Terms and Conditions and the Terms and Conditions of Sale.
Car parking permit renewal
In order to ensure continued cover you need to renew your car parking permits at least seven days prior to the expiry date.
When renewing you permits you'll be asked to enter a renewal date, this date should be 12 months from the date your existing permit is due to expire e.g. if your current permit expires on 1 June 2019, you’ll need to enter 31 May 2020.

Broxbourne Model Railway Club
Hoddesdon Model & Railway Club
Lee Valley Model Yacht Club
These cost £20 a year and you’ll need to contact your club for us to be able to issue you a membership number before you can buy a discounted permit.
