Track accreditation

Track Accreditation

To ride the velodrome track at Lee Valley VeloPark during track leagues and structured training sessions riders must have completed our four stage accreditation process.

track cyclists

If you feel you are a competent road or outdoor track cyclist you can begin the accreditation process on Stage 1 - Basic Introduction and progress through each level to Stage 4 - Accreditation.

As you progress through the CoreStart Accreditation process each stage unlocks levels of the skills sessions. Attend these to develop your track skills before progressing to the next stage of accreditation.

On successful completion of the accreditation process, riders can access the complete Lee Valley programme; including PowerFitness and RaceReady sessions.

Please note you will not be progressed if our coaches do not feel you are ready.

Shared accreditation partnership

We have standardised our accreditation programme to ensure our sessions are consistent with the other five UK indoor velodromes:

  • Derby Arena
  • National Cycling Centre Velodrome, Manchester
  • The Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales, Newport
  • Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome (Emirates Arena), Glasgow
  • Calshot Activities Centre

In order to validate accredited riders from the UK indoor velodromes listed above, riders must have proof of their accreditation (e.g BC UKIVA endorsement), and sign up as a Lee Valley member for free. They'll bypass the first two stages and only need to pass stages 3 and 4 of Lee Valley VeloPark's accreditation assessment.
