Keeping you safe

Keeping you safe

Throughout the Coronavirus outbreak, keeping our visitors, staff and volunteers safe has been our top priority. We’ve reviewed the Government’s latest advice and with changes to the way we run the centre we reopened our Road and Mountain biking tracks on 6 July.

Booking and coming to the site
  • We’re currently only opening for pay and ride use of our road circuit and mountain bike trails
  • Please book and pay in advance using our online booking system, this will help minimise any queues at the venue. MTB and road session can only be booked on the actual day of riding or the day before
  • We will process payments on the day but by card only
  • If you come as part of a small group please only send one person inside to pay
  • Face coverings are mandatory for all customers when entering the venue’s receptions, shops and catering outlet. They can be removed if instructed by a member of staff so that activities can be undertaken and for consuming food
  • Track and Trace – please help us to support NHS Track and Trace by registering your contact details when entering the venue using either QR code or web link available. If you need any help to do this please ask a member of staff
  • If you or anyone in your household is experiencing any signs of illness do not come to Lee Valley VeloPark
  • You must maintain social distancing practices between yourself and others at all times
  • Hand sanitiser will be available on site
  • When parking, make sure you park far enough away from anyone else to avoid contact with other people. If other people are nearby, please wait for them to go before you get out of your car
  • Do not arrive more than 10 minutes before you intend to start cycling, no other services are open at the moment
  • Changing rooms, vending machines and our cafe are all closed.  We are providing toilets which are clearly signposted
  • You;ll only be able to access the reception area of the building to sign in and pay only.
  • There will be a limited number of individual toilets available accessible for the external corridor only
  • Please bring only what you need for your activity. Take everything home that you bring. Please don’t litter
  • We’re currently not hiring bikes, helmets, shoes or gloves
  • We'll not be offering our Direct Debit scheme at this stage
  • If parking within the car park remember to correctly enter your vehicle’s registration number into Parkingeye terminals by the entrance of the road circuit and MTB tunnel gates to obtain four hours free parking from the time you entered the car park
During your activity
  • Follow directional signage on the road circuit and mountain bike trails
  • On the road circuit stay to the inner edge of the circuit to allow faster riders to safely overtake you on the right and prevent riders bunching up together
  • On the mountain bike trails, stop and take a short break if you are coming close to another cyclist
  • Follow any instructions given to you by members of our staff
  • Try to minimise touching anything other your own equipment
  • Leaving the site
  • When you finish your activity, please leave the VeloPark straight away
  • Take care in the car park and, if there are people near your car, wait for them to go before you get into yours. Just as with your activity, don’t have social gatherings in the car park
  • Ensure you have entered your vehicle’s registration before leaving to obtain the four hours free parking
Our staff
  • There will be staff around the cycle routes ensuring safe cycling practices are being observed and social distancing is being maintained
  • They’ll be social distancing at all times and will stand back if they need to speak with you
  • You will be issued with a wrist band that can be attached to your helmet, staff can easily see this and it stops us having to stop you to check you have paid.
