Nature and activity volunteering opportunities

Biodiversity surveys

The Biodiversity team co-ordinates mink monitoring, butterfly surveys, reptile surveys and WeBS (Wetland Bird) counts for the valley. Each role requires a different level of knowledge and therefore we will send you our role descriptions to read for further information.

Currently all locations are being covered by volunteers so we do not have any roles available at this time. Any vacancies that become available in the future will be advertised on this page so please check again in the future.

However, if you have seen or photographed something interesting in Lee Valley Regional Park and want to share it you can record your wildlife sighting at: visitleevalley.org.uk/wildlifesightings

Bittern Information Point

The Bittern Information Point is also a bird hide and is run entirely by volunteers. Roles here include giving information to the public and showing them birds from the hide or on our wildlife CCTV system.

Rangers manage all of our open spaces. There are opportunities at all of our sites for Hon Wardens to work with the ranger team and help to look after the sites. Activities can be varied and can range from patrolling the site, litter picking or getting involved in projects or conservation tasks. If you wish to apply you need to know what site you are interested in so please check the web site or call for your nearest Park.
