Water in Lee Valley has helped to shape the park, its' habitats and wildlife.
In this unique session compare and contrast natural and manmade features of the meandering River Lea, the straight River Lee Navigation and lakes created from gravel extraction. Students discuss and record geographical features, waterbirds species present, complete field sketches and discuss flow rates of the three waterways. NEW- Now includes a visit to the Wildlife Discovery Centre.
Session covers: Working scientifically observing living things and their habitats; record findings using labelled diagrams, tables and graphs; geographical skills using fieldwork to observe, measure and present the human and physical features in the local area using a range of methods, self-learning and exploration.
