Master Classes - October

Our Master Classes are led by fully qualified UKA coaches, who all have years of coaching experience. You will gain a greater understanding and knowledge of your discipline.
They're open to all athletes with a basic background in the chosen discipline, be it at grassroots, club or country level. We invite you to come and share your love for the sport with others whilst developing your skills.

Middle Distance - Monday 25 and Friday 29 October - Book now
Coach information: Philip Kissi has coached from grassroots to senior international level for many years with one of his athletes representing Great Britain at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and another recently winning the SIAB u17 Championships over 3000m. Philip is passionate about middle distance and will be leading this October’s master class
Hurdles - Monday 25 October - Book now
Coach information: Eric Brees has over 40 years of coaching knowledge and is still as enthusiastic as ever. He will be the lead coach for the sprints and hurdles master class.
Long Jump - Tuesday 26 and Friday 29 October - Book now
Coach information: Joshua Sterling is a very talented triple jumper and also excels at long jump. He is one of Lee Valley's most enthusiastic young coaches and will work alongside John Mahon on the long jump master class.
High Jump - Wednesday 27 October - Book now
Coach information: Carol Jackson is a very experienced High Jump Coach who has coached from grassroots to Youth/Junior /U23 International level and global Championships. Her philosophy is to have fun with the event whilst instilling good High Jump technique and all round athlete development. Carol will lead the High Jump master class.
Sprints - Thursday 28 October - Book now

Pole Vault - Friday 29 October - Book now
Coach information: John Mahon has many years of pole vault coaching experience. He’s coached athletes from complete beginners this year and helped get them to major championships finals. John will lead the pole vault master class.
Parents aren't required to stay on site during these sessions unless they wish too.
We recommend bringing a refillable water bottle – there’s a water fountain available to top up next to reception.
Each child should wear suitable clothing for athletics sports similar to PE kit. Sensible footwear such as trainers are a must.
