Ice skating isn't just for the kids, adults can join in the fun too! Our Learn to Skate courses are a brilliant way to make new friends, build confidence and keep in shape. So why not give it a whirl? Our adult ice skating courses are for anyone aged 16 or over and run during school term time.
Please check back for new course dates.
Recording your success!
As well as skate hire and free entry to the evening public session, you’ll receive a record of achievement booklet at the end of every Skate UK course. This helps the centre monitor your progress through the different levels. For a small fee, Skate UK certificates and sew-on badges can be bought at Box Office for each standard you achieve at a satisfactory level. We also sell Skate UK Star passport booklets for those skating at Bronze, Silver or Gold standard.
The Coffee Club is a relaxed, adult group lesson that runs during school term time – so the ice is nice and quiet! As the name suggests, a relaxing free hot drink in Blade's Ice-Bar is a great way to socialise with your fellow skaters after the session.
Courses include a half hour group lesson, skate hire, record of achievement, free entry for the public session and a free hot drink after the class.
To book a place on a course please create a Lee Valley Ice Centre online membership here.
After creating a membership please email or call us (on 03000 030 624) with your membership number and details of the course you wish to enrol on.
All bookings are subject to availability and offered on a first come first served basis. We'll contact you within two working days to arrange payment via your debit/credit card.

Here are a few things to keep in mind to make your skating safe and comfortable:
You'll need to adhere to the Safe skating code which is on display around the rink.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of your class. Refunds can’t be given if you’re late.
Wear warm, comfortable clothing; gloves and socks are advisable.
If you need to borrow skates, go to Skate Hire and collect them then proceed to the rink side and wait for your class to start.
Please ensure you read our useful information page before attending your session.
