Forty Hall & Estate

Forty Hall is a Grade I listed Jacobean Manor House, nestled in leafy Enfield.The permanent exhibition there tells the story of the grounds throughout the ages and looks at the life and times of Sir Nicholas Rainton and life in the seventeenth century.

With a range of visual and audio interpretation and displays there are ample ways for all of the family to engage with learning about the Hall in an enjoyable way. Guided tours are also on offer at the Hall, led by a Jacobean character, to add value to your visit and further an understanding of the Hall’s history.

The events and exhibitions programme focuses on Art, Ecology and Heritage and includes a range of activities including seasonal events, talks, workshops, family events and playschemes. There is also a shop and café are located on site.
