Lee Valley Hockey Centre is one of four world class London 2012 venues Lee Valley Regional Park Authority will own and run.
With 3,000 permanent seats and the ability to expand to hold up to 15,000 spectators, the centre will be the focus of international and national games for decades to come.
The centre will be make use of the two state-of-the art artificial pitches on which the London 2012 Olympic hockey competition took place, where the GB women’s team won bronze. These two pitches will be taken from the centre of Olympic Park and relocated in the north of the Park to create Lee Valley Hockey Centre.
In 2015 Lee Valley Hockey Centre will stage the European Hockey Championships, the first major sporting event to take place on Olympic Park after the London 2012 Games. Securing high profile events is a key part of the Authority's mission to generate genuine sporting and economic benefits from all its sports veneus. In 2015 the World Canoe Slalom Championships will be held at Lee Valley White Water Centre.
Local London clubs are planning to make the most of Lee Valley Hockey Centre for training and weekend matches, so expect to enjoy plenty of action and activity throughout the season.
