Lee Valley Regional Park is home to a number of world class sports venues where young people can experience playing a variety of different sports, see some of our sports programmes designed for schools.

Learn how to play hockey
Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre
Home to the London 2012 Paralympic Wheelchair Tennis Competition, Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre offers a range of hockey and tennis activities for school groups of different ages and group sizes.
Mini tennis and Quicksticks hockey provide an ideal introduction to the game for primary school aged pupils, with adapted equipment and rules ensuring that all young people can achieve. For secondary schools, the centre can offer coached tennis sessions for up to 30 students, combining expert coaching with social play and competition. Alternatively why not book a cardio tennis session, providing your students with a high intensity workout on court. The centre also offers Rush Hockey for secondary school students as well as full pitch training sessions.
Lee Valley hockey and Tennis Centre is also an ideal venues to host a schools competition or festival.

White water rafting
Lee Valley White Water Centre
Offering a wide range of activities, Lee Valley White Water Centre can provide a thrill seeking experience for your students. White water rafting, instructed flat water kayaking, hydrospeeding and bespoke team building activities are all available for students aged 12+. A short summary of each can be seen below.
White water rafting legacy loop
Each five person raft is guided down the fast flowing rapids of the 160m legacy loop by one of our experienced instructors.
Age: 10 years and over
Price: £30 per student (minimum 20 participants)
White water rafting Olympic competition course
Guided by our instructors your students will have the opportunity to tackle the 300m Olympic course in our nine person raft.
Age: 14 years and over
Price: £342.00 per raft (minimum 9 participants)
Hydrospeeding
Navigate the rapids on a hydrospeed – a cross between a body board and swimming float. This fun white water challenge will enable students to carve, turn and surf under their own power
Age: 12 years and over
Price: £35.00 per student (minimum 9 participants, discounts available for larger groups)
Discover kayaking
Learn the basic skills of canoeing and kayaking under the instruction of one of our qualified canoe instructors. All equipment is provided.

Team building sessions
Why not try some raft building or tackle our inflatable assault course, Water Wipe Out. These bespoke sessions can be adapted to meet your needs.

Lee Valley White Water Centre are in the process of launching a new Schools Outreach Programme which is currently being piloted. This will be available for schools in the summer term.

Boasting outstanding indoor and outdoor track and field facilities, Lee Valley Athletics Centre has a range of school offers which can be seen below:
Sports day experience
A perfect venue for your school sport day, offering exclusive use of the indoor and outdoor facilities. All equipment will be set up and ready for you to use.

Price: £75.00 per hour exclusive use of either the indoor or outdoor track
PE Support
Why not inspire your students by teaching your class in this high performance athletics venue. This can include GCSE assessments and preparations.

Get your class riding
Lee Valley Riding Centre
Lee Valley Riding Centre provides schools with the opportunity for students to learn the skills of horse riding. The centre has both indoor and outdoor floodlit arenas ensuring that activities can still take place whatever the weather.
Riding Lessons
Learn the skills of horse riding through our schools’ riding lessons. Sessions run Monday to Friday 09:00 – 16:00 and may need to be booked up to four weeks in advance.

Lee Valley Ice Centre
Used by ice hockey teams, skating clubs and professional stars, Lee Valley Ice Centre is excellent for ice skating and ice sports in London and the south east.
Learn to skate
Lee Valley Ice Centre's learn to skate lessons are run in weekly slots that follow the school term timetable (courses are minimum of six weeks). This programme includes:

Try our BMX experience
Lee Valley VeloPark
These sessions run by our fully qualified coaches will help children master the fundamentals of cycling, including basic skills such as cornering, braking and bike handling.
Pedal Up
The Pedal Up school sessions consists of a full range of fun games and activities to master the FUNdamentals of cycling. Riders will learn to master basic skills such as cornering, braking, generic bike handling, but ultimately having fun and coming away wanting to do more! Pedal Up sessions will include mini versions of the main disciplines we have to offer in the venue.
It is strongly recommended that schools book Pedal Up sessions prior to booking one of the main disciplines. In the event that the school books a main discipline and the coach deems certain pupils do not meet the required level of skill to take part in the session, those pupils will be required to sit out of the activities and must be supervised by a member of school staff. If all, or the majority of pupils do not meet required standards for the main discipline, the coach will stop the discipline specific session and deliver Pedal Up Schools activities on a flat area.
Students in year 5 or below will have their session in our Track Centre. Students in year 6 or above will have their sessions outside on our Road Circuit to allow for extra space.
Age: 5-11 years
Price: £110 per session (From 1 April 2020 - £114 per session) for a maximum of 16 students.
Availability: Monday to Friday 09.00 – 16.00 (flexible within these times)
Velodrome Track
Aimed at introducing track cycling to students in year 7 or above. Students will be taught skills on both the Track Centre as well as the Olympic Track. All students need basic experience of riding a bike. The coach will be responsible for students on the track, with the school teacher responsible for students on the Track Centre.
Age: 11 – 18 years old (Minimum rider height 145cm / 4ft 9in)
Price: £125 per session (From 1 April 2020 - £129 per session) for a maximum of 16 students.
Availability: Mondays 10.00 - 12:00, Tuesdays 10.00 - 11.00 and 13.00 - 14.00 and Fridays 10.00 - 12.00
BMX
Aimed at introducing BMX cycling to students in year 3 or above. As well as riding on the remodelled BMX track, the secondary practice track can be utilised by students under teacher supervision. All students need basic experience of riding a bike. Students will be supervised by the coach on the track, whilst the rest of the class are supervised by a school teacher.
Age: 7 – 18 years old (Minimum rider height 127cm / 4ft 2in)
Price: £125 per session (From 1 April 2020 - £114 per session) for a maximum of 16 students.
Availability: Monday to Friday 10.15 – 11.15, 11.30 – 12.30, 13.00 – 14.00 and 14.15 – 15.15
Road
Aimed at introducing road cycling to students in year 6 or above. Depending on ability, students can ride in groups or as a single pack. All students need basic experience of riding a bike. Students will ride the circuit with either a coach, and/or cycling competent school teacher on a road or MTB bike.
Age: 10 – 18 years old (Minimum rider height 135cm / 4ft 5in)
Price: £110 per session (From 1 April 2020 - £114 per session) for a maximum of 16 students.
Availability: Monday to Friday 09.45 – 10.45, 11.15 – 12.15, 12.30 – 13.30 and 14.00 – 15.00
Mountain Bike
The venue will devise a series of trail sessions for students in year 6 or above, which will help students to become safe, competent riders. All students need basic experience of riding a bike. Students will ride with both a coach and cycling competent school teacher. One cycling competent teacher must ride (mandatory).

Price: £110 per session (From 1 April 2020 - £114 per session) for a maximum of 15 students.
Availability: Monday – Friday 10.00 – 11.00, 11.15 – 12.15, 12.45 – 13.45 and 14.00 – 15.00
Tour and Talk
We also offer a tour and talk on Lee Valley VeloPark which will last one hour. It’s a great way to understand the venue and its impact following the London 2012 Games. It’s for a maximum of 16 students per tour costing £50.00.
Price: £50 per hour for a maximum of 16 students.
